Ice breakers are for awkward work events. This is a game to be played with the people you love most in the world. Learn about Dad’s mysterious side of the family and what the world was like when Mom was a teenager. You may even learn, that back in the day, Grandma broke hearts.
We encourage families of any size and of any kind to play SGBH. It’s a great way to bond with your loved ones by tapping into the light-hearted memories that often go untold and the little details that often go overlooked.
The possibilities of with whom and where to play this game are endless -- after opening presents at Christmas, eating your second helping of dessert at Thanksgiving, brunching with the fam for Mother’s Day, or even road-tripping to college drop off!
The game is simple. The person who draws the card answers the card. If the question does not apply to you, put the card back in the deck and draw again.
Remember, this is not about getting the “correct answer” and there is no “winner.” Each card is an opportunity to collect perspectives, dig deeper, and relive memories. All participants are encouraged to chime in with more details or even their own versions of the same story!
The more, the merrier! We recommend a minimum of 2 people, but there’s really no limit on how many people can play. The more people that play, the more stories you’ll hear, the more tea that gets spilled :)
